Ben and Hannah's Darwin favorites

Swimming with Croc's, Free water slides, catching Barra,  markets and concerts.....

Hi its Ben....we went to this really cool place called Crocosaurus Cove, which obviously had lots of croc's but guess what we got to swim with them!  Well not really, but we were swimming in this big tank next to them. It was fun because all the crocs on the other side kept swimming up to the window and banging on it trying to get into our tank.
We also went fishing for crocs with a fishing rod.  As you can see in the picture below we stood on a platform with lots of baby crocs swimming around in the water below. We held the fishing line dangling a piece of meat up over the water and the crocs jumped up to get it off the line!  The rods didn't have hooks we were just feeding them really, but it was fun watching them jump up really high.
There was also a reptile room and we got to hold the python.
The other fun thing was the fishing charter we went on.  It was on the Corroboree Billabong. Mum got disappointed because we were meant to be on the water to watch the sunrise but the boat trailer lost a wheel on the way there.  We had to unhook it and drive back a long way to look for the wheel. We found it and the man put it back on.  You can see the missing wheel in the photo.
The boat went really fast .
Hannah hooked something and is reeling it in.  Oh look its a sleepy cod.
Look what I caught.  Its a eel tailed catfish.  I hooked it in its back. You cant eat these ones.  We saw lots of birds and here is a Jabaru.
Hannah hooked a big barra, the man said it looked like it was about 80cm. We saw it jump out of the water a long way out. She reeled it all the way in to the boat but it got away before the man could get it in the net.  The picture below is of her reeling it in.  Luckily Dad did catch one.
Mum wanted to show everyone the nice scenery in the Billabong (boring)
We saw some really big saltwater crocs on the banks and in the water.
Hi, its Hannah....This water park was definitely one of my favorite things to do in Darwin.  We went with our friends Maddie, Brooke and Tilly.  Maddie and I found that the red slide was the best in the whole park because it was pitch black dark.  You could ride on a blow up tube for two,  where as the other slides weren't dark and you just slid down on your bottom.  It was so much fun!
Mindil Markets was also a great thing to do.  There were so many different things to buy and look at. There were lots of street performers, and I got the biggest fairy floss in the world, although it only took me a few minutes to eat.

How cool was this, we were in Darwin for the Jessica Mauboy concert.  It was outside in the botanical gardens and was awesome. Mum and I went up the front and danced.  It was so loud but can you believe Ben fell asleep in the middle of it!

We are going into Kakadu next so bye bye big towns and civilisation!
