Heading West - Buderim to St George

Hi Everyone,
It was great to hit the road last Friday.  We left Buderim around 7.30am and arrived in St George at 4pm.  We had morning tea at Kilkoy and Lunch at Dalby in the park.

Bye Sunshine Coast

Our campsite at the Kapunda Fishing and caravan park is right on the banks of the Balonne river just outside of St George. Its crazy sitting here looking up at the watermark 7m up the tree in front of us showing the recent flood!
Ben found two snakes withing half an hour of arriving, one while collecting firewood and one hiding in the river bank.  We've had a fish in the river and I'm proud to hold onto my record of first to catch one.....hey it doesn't matter the size!

We watched an Aboriginal family pluck lobster size yabbies from the low side of the weir, on the way out there we had a near miss when two emu's ran out in front of the car. The weather has been amazing, beautiful sunny days and clear nights great for star gazing.  Ben gave me a lesson on the universe, spiral galaxy's and all sorts of other interesting facts.  He's giving me a written test tomorrow.

The kids have done 6 hours of school work so far, so we are off to a good start.  Marking Hannah's maths is quite challenging....should keep me switched on.  Scotts enjoyed trying out his new 4WD GPS toy and the Telstra Next G wireless modem.  So far everything is working great.

We've just come back from the St George Annual Show. It was quite a big event for out here. We sat right on the edge of the arena and watched the Rodeo, the barrel racing and the bucking horses were great to watch, and of course the bull riding was spectacular especially up that close! Anyway the kids are off to bed and Scott is stoking the fire for us. Tomorrow we are heading to Cunnumulla to stay at a Nardoo station.
