Adreniline Junkies at Manning Gorge

Our campsite at Manning Gorge was right near this huge Boab tree!
We had a 30sec stroll down to the Manning river, which you have to cross to start the 3km walk into the Gorge.  The photo below shows Scott wading across with our things for the day in the styrofoam box.
The walk was pretty hot so we couldn't wait to get wet!

Even the big kids got into the action!
We found a nice white sandy beach where we had lunch, and spent some time exploring further downstream.  Once again people came and went while we just stayed and enjoyed the area.  At one stage we were the only ones there, apart from 2 young guys and a girl who much to Scott's delight decided to jump off the waterfall topless!! (sorry boys I didn't have the camera in hand to capture that.)

The next day we lazed around camp and went for swims down at the river. The kids ended up volunteering their services ferrying people across the river in the tinny to start their walk to the gorge.
Check out the resident freshwater crocodile sitting on the rock.  The caretaker of the park sits on the shore with his binoculars and keeps an eye on it while the tourists swim across.
